Currently, Kyle is a Sound Designer at VICE MEDIA, a former Director of Media Learning) at Howard University.
Kyle’s path took him down a slightly different road than his uncle, as his interest in music and the creativity he demonstrated as a Radio Production student landed him internships, that subsequently became jobs, at a variety of local radio stations and companies, including WHBC 830am, WHUR, WPGC 95.5 FM where he worked as a producer for popular radio DJ Big Tigger. His first post-college job was as an “audio animator” at the burgeoning XM Satellite Radio where he worked for eight years creating radio imaging for their hip-hop and jazz programming. Kyle left to pursue a full-time career in music as an artist after his group Panacea was signed to the respected record label Rawkus Records, which birthed the careers of hip-hop artists like Mos Def, Talib Kweli and Phaorahe Monch. The opportunity allowed Kyle, known as K-Murdock, to work with a variety of artists like Grammy-nominated R&B singer Raheem Devaughn.
Be sure to check out Murdock’s previous work with Rawkus Records and Raw Poetic as the duo Panacea, Forever Famicon (with Mega Ran) and much much more.
